An Exclusive: Azura Velvet Flares - Terra Nova Rust
This bold, geometric print is a true 70’s throwback. This elegant and elongating, seamless yet playful design is a staple for the flare-lovers out there. Exploding with terra nova tones of rust, tan, burnt orange and gold – this print features within our Dhana Dreams design and matches her colour way like soul-sisters do.
This collection was heavily influenced by pop art icon Peter Max, and ‘The Cosmic 60s’ artwork he produced, particularly references to the Universe in his psychedelic artwork. Using cosmic and lunar motifs to create a celestial narrative, two distinctive colour palettes express contrasting ideas; a story of the light, playful cosmic heavens, and the rich, brooding midnight. Australian artists Harley and J and Shell Shimmin contributed specially commissioned pieces for this collection exploring the contrasting moods and magical possibilities of the universe.
All of the flares from our ‘Cosmic Velvet’ collection were debuted at New York Fashion Week in September 2017. This range encompasses exclusively designed pieces of artwork for Flare Street in collaboration with Byron Bay artist, Harley & J. All of these designs were drawn in Byron Bay, the flares are made in Melbourne, created from quality Velvet that is sustainably printed in Australia*.
Flare Street’s designs are for those who aren’t just fiercely fashionable but also have a sense of life and individuality. We want people to feel empowered and as though they are expressing themselves in their truest way. The designs are a throwback to that era, reworked and blended with modern colours & structures so that our customers can add it into their everyday wardrobe. We’re huge velvet lovers too - blending psychedelic art, cosmic references, retro prints and velvet is what we love to do!
They are a perfect addition to any occasion! Treat them with love and care, pass them down to your daughters or loved ones and cherish them forever. They are limited edition, made to last and a truly unique Flare Street design!
